... Hard freeze watch in effect from late Saturday night through
Sunday morning...

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a hard
freeze watch... which is in effect from late Saturday night
through Sunday morning.

* Temperature... overnight Saturday into Sunday morning will drop
into the mid teens and lower 20s area wide. The coldest
locations will be across the north.

* Impacts... due to the warmer temperatures in the area over the
past few weeks... many plants have already started blooming and
these temperatures could have devastating impacts to vegetation.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A hard freeze watch means temperatures will be cold enough to
cause exposed pipes to freeze and possibly burst. Please take the
necessary precautions to protect any sensitive plants at your home
or business. Also... take the time to protect exposed pipes from
the cold.





Fire Weather Watch
Statement as of 3:38 PM CST on February 10, 2012

... Fire Weather Watch in effect from Sunday morning through
Sunday afternoon for all of central Alabama...

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a Fire
Weather Watch... which is in effect from Sunday morning through
Sunday afternoon.

* Winds... northwest 10 to 15 mph.

* Relative humidity... as low as 19 percent.

* Impacts... the combination of a dry airmass and windy
conditions will result in critical fire weather conditions.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions
are forecast to occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible
red flag warnings.
