Statement as of 4:30 am MST on February 11, 2012

... Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from late tonight through
late Sunday night...

* timing... snow will spread southwest to northeast tonight... but
the heavier accumulations will occur after midnight. Snow will
then continue Sunday and Sunday night.

* Snow accumulation... up to a foot of new snow is possible with
locally heavier amounts on southwest and west facing slopes.

* Winds... south to southwest winds 10 to 15 mph with gust to 25
mph tonight and Sunday morning... then becoming west late
Sunday afternoon and Sunday night.

* Visibility... dropping below 1 mile at times in snow and
blowing snow.

* Impacts... mountain roads and highways will become icy and snow
packed. Travel will also be affected by reduced visibilities
and some blowing and drifting snow over the passes.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant
snow accumulations and/or blowing snow that may impact travel.
