... Enhanced wildfire threat this afternoon across portions of the
mid Atlantic region today...

Westerly winds will increase early this afternoon to 15 to 20 mph.
Fuel moisture remains low due to severe drought over much of
northern Virginia... the eastern West Virginia Panhandle... and
Maryland - west of the Chesapeake Bay. Relative humidity levels
will decrease to 30 to 35 percent during the afternoon hours today.
The combination of low fuel moisture... gusty winds and relatively
dry air will pose an enhanced threat for wildfires this afternoon.
Winds are forecast to decrease rapidly around dusk.

Open burning is strongly discouraged today.
