Winter Weather Advisory
Statement as of 11:04 PM EST on February 10, 2012

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM EST
Saturday...

Hazardous weather...

* after a lull... lake effect snow will redevelop late tonight
and continue into Saturday. An additional 3 to 6 inches of
snow is expected late tonight and Saturday. Localized higher
amounts may occur due to lake effect.

* Temperatures are currently falling into the teens. All of the
newly fallen snow will freeze up as temperatures drop
tonight. North winds gusting to 30 mph will create wind
chills near zero and some blowing snow.

Impacts...

* icy roads and reduced visibilities leading to slide offs.

* Much slower commuting times. Slow travel Saturday as well in
   heavy lake effect snow bands.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

* the Michigan Department of Transportation reminds motorists
to adjust speeds based on the conditions... and to take it
   slow in ice and snow.

* Weather preparedness information is available on line at
   www.Ready.Gov/winter and http://go.USA.Gov/5og.
