... Flood Watch remains in effect through Thursday evening...

The Flood Watch continues for

* portions of northeast Oregon... WA and southeast Washington...
including the following areas... in northeast Oregon...
foothills of the Blue Mountains of Oregon and northern Blue
Mountains of Oregon. In WA... northwest Blue Mountains. In
southeast Washington... foothills of the Blue Mountains of
Washington.

* Through Thursday evening

* heavy rain is expected to move into the area today and snow
levels are around 6000 to 7000 feet. Small streams and creeks
have seen some rises overnight and with additional rain and snow
melt... small stream and river flooding may still occur. Storm
total rainfall amounts could range from 1 to 2 inches... with the
highest amounts expected over Blue Mountains of southeast
Washington.

* The Walla Walla river at Touchet is currently forecast to rise
to the flood stage of 13 feet Wednesday evening and may crest
near 15 feet by Thursday morning.

Numerous small streams and creeks including Coppei creek... Mill
Creek... yellowhawk and Meacham creeks as well as the Touchet
and Umatilla rivers will see some rises today... but are expected
rapidly rise again tonight and early Thursday.

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts. You should monitor later forecasts and be
alert for possible flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to
flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding
