Special Weather Statement
Statement as of 9:21 am PDT on August 29, 2008

... Unseasonably cool and breezy this Holiday weekend..

A Pacific low pressure system will move across Washington and
Oregon this weekend. The system will result in breezy to windy
conditions... particularly on Saturday... and will spread cooler air
east of the Cascades. Isolated light showers are expected over the
mountains... but the main effect from this system will be the
unseasonably cool temperatures. Afternoon temperatures on Sunday
and Labor Day will be in the 60s over the mountains and 70s
elsewhere. Overnight low temperatures will mainly be in the mid
30s to mid 40s. A few mountain locations will see temperatures
near to below freezing.

Campers... hikers... and other outdoor enthusiasts should be
prepared for the change in temperatures this Holiday weekend. For
additional weather information... refer to our website at
weather.Gov/Pendleton.
