Statement as of 1:05 PM EST on February 11, 2012

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM EST this
evening...

* locations... northwest mountains and Laurel Highlands.

* Hazard types... snow and gusty winds.

* Accumulations... .another inch or less through 7 PM.

* Timing... this afternoon.

* Impacts... difficult travel conditions due to reduced visibility
due to snow and gusty winds. As temperatures drop... any
untreated roads... bridges and sidewalks will become icy.

* Winds... northwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts of 25 to 35 mph.

* Temperatures... falling into the lower teens.

* Visibilities... mainly 2 miles but below one-half mile at times
in heavier snow showers and brief squalls.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered
roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while driving.
Motorists should be especially cautious on bridges and
overpasses... where slippery spots develop first. Stay tuned to
