Areas of blowing snow in the evening. Snow showers likely in the evening...then snow likely after midnight. Additional snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches. Brisk and colder with lows around 10 above. Northwest winds 15 to 25 mph. Chance of snow 70 percent.

Snow showers likely. Little or no additional snow accumulation. Brisk with highs in the lower 20s. West winds 15 to 25 mph. Chance of snow 70 percent.

Winter Weather Advisory
Statement as of 10:16 am EST on February 11, 2012

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM EST this
evening...

* locations... northwest mountains and Laurel Highlands.

* Hazard types... snow and gusty winds.

* Accumulations... another one to two inches of snow... resulting
in totals of generally 2 to 3 inches through 7 PM. Additional
lake effect snow is anticipated tonight and Sunday... but this
advisory does not cover that separate event. Additional
advisories may be necessary later today to cover the potential
of heavier lake effect snow.

* Timing... late tonight through Saturday.

* Impacts... difficult travel conditions due to reduced
visibility and snow accumulations. Gusty winds combined with
temperatures falling into the single digits and teens will
produce wind chills below zero Saturday night.

* Winds... northwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. These
gusty winds will lead to the low visibilities in any snow
showers and perhaps lead to some blowing snow.

* Temperatures... 13 to 26.

* Visibilities... mainly 2 miles but below one-half mile at times
in heavier snow showers and brief squalls.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered
roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while driving.
Motorists should be especially cautious on bridges and
overpasses... where slippery spots develop first. Stay tuned to
