Statement as of 1:23 PM EST on February 11, 2012

... High Wind Warning remains in effect until 4 am EST Sunday...

* locations... along and near the Blue Ridge and higher terrain of
the Alleghany Highlands.

* Hazards... damaging wind gusts.

* Winds... northwest 15 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph.

* Timing... through late tonight.

* Impacts... downed trees and power lines.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected
or occurring. Wind gusts up to 60 mph are likely to cause
sporadic power outages... fallen trees... minor property
damage... and dangerous driving conditions for high profile
vehicles. Residents should move unfastened items... such as garbage
cans and deck furniture... indoors.

Tractor trailers... or other high profile vehicles... may easily be
blown into another Lane or even overturn with winds this strong.
This is especially true along Interstate 77 near Fancy Gap Virginia.
