evening to 6 am EST Sunday...

* locations... the North Carolina mountains... mountain Empire
region... Alleghany Highlands... and portions of the New River
valley.

* Hazard types... snow... very gusty winds... and wind chills.

* Accumulations... snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches.

* Timing... occasional snow this evening... with heavier snowfall
early Saturday morning through Saturday evening... ending
Sunday morning.

* Impacts... periods of heavy snow... very gusty winds... bitter wind
chills... blowing and drifting of snow.

* Winds... northwest 15 to 25 mph... with gusts up to 50 mph on
Saturday afternoon and evening.

* Temperatures... in the mid 20s.

* Wind chills... 10 to 15 tonight... falling to 0 to 10 degrees
late Saturday night.
