Snow. Areas of blowing snow in the afternoon. Additional snow accumulation of 4 to 6 inches. Windy and colder with highs in the mid 20s. Temperature falling to around 12 in the afternoon. Statement as of 4:04 PM EST on February 10, 2012

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 7 am EST Sunday...

* locations... parts of northern and Central Mountain counties of
West Virginia.

* Hazard types... heavy snow... blowing snow and low wind chills.

* Accumulations... 6 to 10 inches of snow.

* Timing... the heaviest snows will occur late tonight into
Saturday night.

* Impacts... snow accumulations will make travel difficult. Wind
chills below zero are possible. All unnecessary travel should
be avoided.

* Winds... west 20 to 30 mph with gusts of 40 to 50 mph.

* Temperatures... falling into the lower 20s.

* Visibilities... will be reduced to a quarter mile or less at
times in snow and blowing snow Saturday and Saturday night.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of
snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in
an emergency. If you must travel... keep an extra flashlight...
food... and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
